Aelwyd Chwilog

Every Sunday night at 6.30 (or more often if needed) Aelwyd Chwilog is held in the Memorial Hall. Children from every age from 10 to 18 can attend the Aelwyd Chwilog. Whatever your age there are a lot of different opportunities to perform and compete.

We are very fortunate in the Aelwyd having many people come to help us weekly:

• Pat Jones – conductor
• Carys Jones – also teaches singing
• Alun Jones – recitation teacher
• Catrin Aelwyd – accompanist

Recently the Aelwyd has been competing in the National Youth Music Festival. They competed in Rochdale, and in the second round in Birmingham, where they succeeded to please the adjudicators and were invited to perform at the Schools’ Prom at the Royal Albert Hall in London. They had an amazing time taking part in the festival and their performance made a great impression on the audience.

Something is happening all the time at Aelwyd Chwilog, and it won’t be long till the next event.
